On Tuesday we generated characters for the upcoming Storm Kings D&D campaign and played the not-yet-released Apocrypha card game. Apocrypha is by the fine folks who made the Pathfinder Adventure Card game so it’s quite similar but darker in tone and with more complicated mechanics. Look for more games of this coming up. Wednesday we successfully ran away from Elder Gods in the Arkham Horror LCG. Thursday saw 7 players ravaging the ancient world in Cthulhu Wars as well as daring hackers battling against powerful corporations in Android: Netrunner. Friday featured a small army of Magic: the Gathering players and a significantly smaller army of architects competing to build Mad King Ludwig’s Castle. On Saturday brave and only slightly criminal big damn heroes traveled the ‘Verse in the Firefly Board Game and Sunday featured several no-doubt rather exciting games that your humble correspondent missed due to actually taking a day off.
There are brand new versions of Twilight Imperium and Legend of the Five Rings coming! If you’re interested in pre-ordering any copies, talk to a Troll!
Due to the incredible demand, we’re starting up a second Dungeons & Dragons campaign, Storm Kings! It’s full already, if you missed your chance, it might not be too late! Talk to a Troll and if there’s enough interest (still?) we’ll open up a second session of Storm Kings.
Our first major Smash Up event is scheduled for Saturday September 9th at Noon. We’ll be giving away copies of the All-Stars (only available at participating venues!) expansion and generally smashing things up.
Andy’s birthday gaming festival extravaganza is coming September 2nd. Everyone is invited. Bring food and games.
Our first non-standard Android: Netrunner event is set for September 10th. Decks can only be made using the two rotating cycles, Genesis and Spin, and the big boxes (but not including Terminal Directive). The Most Wanted List is NOT IN EFFECT but errata will be used.
